What if you could completely decorate a garment both quicker and cheaper than it costs to embroider your badge?

Sound impossible? It’s not… Here’s the facts.

We looked at 25 standard, three inch patches, all with their own unique design. They all had 100% embroidery coverage with an iron on backing, up to 15 colours and no DST setup costs on completed orders.

The technical details were:

Average Colours: 8
Average Stitch Count: 11,818

Based on the above, we estimate, to directly embroider these would take approx. 18 minutes, not including the setting up of your machine or preparation of garments.

The approx. thread, based on a 5000m thread reel, would mean you would get around 65 patches. The thread cost per patch based on a £15 spool would work out to around 23p each.

Working on a six head machine, you would be able to embroider 18 badges per hour, not including the set ups.

With the added price of the labour cost being added in, based on an average of £26,000 per annum and working a 35 hour week, that puts your costs up to around 80p each.

Before adding in the additional energy costs, machine downtime, additional materials, your embroidery works out at an estimate of £1.03 per piece.

So, where do our 100% Embroidered Patches fall into the market?

Our patches are priced from £2.88 on a quantity of 25, down to £0.70 on a quantity of 1000.The application time is just 12-15 seconds and only takes a couple of seconds to line up on your heat press.

Realistically, it is possible to apply three patches per minute, meaning you could decorate 180 garments an hour and based on a seven hour day, you could push out 1260 per day. Compare this to the total output of 126 per day on a six head embroidery machine and you can see where your production output could really increase.

There are no setup costs on completed orders, a reduction in energy costs and the amount of space needed to house an embroidery machine would be gone. Our badges can be applied with a tabletop small badge press or a larger heat press.

Do you have customers that call in for one off items such as polo shirts, hoodies or top up/replica shirts? The great thing is, our patches are able to be applied in a matter of seconds while your customer waits without the need to set up embroidery machines or moving your production schedule round to fit this type of work in.

The typical cost of a bottom heat press, which is the best option for applying patches, although a top heat press does work, is £850 excl. VAT and delivery. This means that there is a lot smaller investment required to get started and with less training required in this process, you will be ready to go sooner and more efficiently.

Over the last twenty three years, we have supplied in excess of 8,000 different logos and have a customer base that stretches back to the very beginning.

We have used the same factory since we started to offer patches so we have a very long and understanding professional relationship with them.
